In upper floors while constructing kitchen, there may be a sink/ditch being built from where water is drained out by pipes embedded in the terrace thus causing increased thickness of the terrace on that side and hence heavier too. Such increased height and heaviness would have its effects on the residence depending upon this side such variation has occurred. It is for this reason, such sinks/dithech etc be made towards South, West, SouthWest side where these are permitted.

Regular Plot

If the building is North, East, South or West facing, Kitchen may be placed anywhere. However while casting the slab, observe the following precautions.

Kitchen doors may be placed as shown. Slab, Almirah, Sink etc should be placed adjoining South & West walls only. These may not be towards East or North walls. However counter as also sink/almirah may be placed on the floor and away from the walls by at least one inch. These may be placed towards any direction.

Skewed Plot

In NorthEast, SouthEast, SouthWest & NorthWest facing construction, kitchen may be placed anywhere. While casting slab observe the following precautions.

Kitchen doors may be placed as shown. Slab, Almirah, Sink etc should be placed adjoining SouthWest wall only. These may not be towards NorthEast, NorthWest or SouthEast walls. However counter as also sink/almirah may be placed on the floor and away from the walls by at least one inch. These may be placed towards any direction.
