Shri Madinath Temple

Location: Madinath locality, Bareilly

Madinath Temple is one of the four traditional Nath temples said to guard the different directions of Bareilly. According to local belief, its Shivling was established by the Pandavas during their period of exile. Claims that the temple is thousands of years old belong to religious tradition and are not established archaeological dates.

The surrounding locality is itself named after the temple. It remains an important centre for Shivling worship, Rudrabhishek and religious observances, particularly during Mahashivratri, Sawan and other Shiva festivals.
