Location: Sadar Bazar, Bareilly Cantonment

Dhopeshwar Nath is an ancient Shiva shrine associated through local tradition with the Mahabharata. The site is believed to be connected with the birth of Draupadi and Dhrishtadyumna, who emerged from the sacrificial fire of King Drupada’s yajna.

The temple has a large water tank or kund and several shrines within its premises, including a cave-like worship area. Its association with ancient Panchala gives it considerable religious and cultural importance. It receives a heavy influx of devotees during Mahashivratri and Sawan.
